Our Corporate Social Responsibility for IT Waste
PHS Maxitechs’ Corporate Social Responsibility aligns business operations with social values. Our CSR policy focuses on the social, environmental and financial success of an organization with the goal being to positively impact society while achieving business success.
At PHS Maxitech we believe in:
Charitable Donation
PHS Maxitech works with various charities such as Age Concern London providing the elderly with refurbished computers. We can also provide this donation service to organizations that have affiliated charities. This provides an ethical and environmental solution to the growing problem of waste electrical goods that enables organisations to comply with the requirements of the WEEE Directive.
Closed Loop
PHS Maxitech offers its clients a buy-back scheme for the clients’ employees. Once the IT equipment is refurbished and recycled it is ready for reuse. The IT equipment is then offered for sale to the clients employees, in effect returning the equipment to its original source.
The Rt. Hon. The Lord Dixon-Smith, Shadow Minister of Environment
The work undertaken at PHS Maxitech is helping fulfill an essential need for society today. It is no longer acceptable to dump electronic equipment when it is replaced by newer items. A service which can take those items and turn them into opportunities for training of unemployed and a resource for disadvantaged people is of great benefit. Maxitech earns its success. It will be increasingly appreciated by those it serves.
Margaret Beckett MP, Secretary of State for the Environment
Maxitech must be congratulated on adopting a proactive approach to the WEEE directive and in providing training and employment opportunities in this field for unemployed people from disadvantaged backgrounds. Facilities like Maxitech will be key to fulfilling the UK’s obligations under the WEEE directive to reuse, treat and recycle waste electrical equipment."
